Verdant Works - Jute Mill museum.
Jute is a rough stringy material made from plants grown in India. Back in the 1800s Dundee was globally famous for Jute production, which was made into bags, tents, wallpapers, clothing. Also because Dundee had a large whale business and Jute was softened with whale oil. However later on Indians discovered how much they were earning, so they started up their own mill in India and Dundee could no longer compete.
